Bruce Johnston and Terry Melcher, collectively known as Bruce & Terry, were an
American rock music duo from Los Angeles. Active from 1963 to 1965, they began
their collaboration while working at Columbia Records. Johnston was a session
musician, and Melcher had a minor solo career under the name Terry Day before
becoming one of the youngest staff record producers in Columbia's history. Their
breakthrough came with the band The Rip Chords, for whom they vocal arranged and
