Breakbeat Era was a British electronic music project formed in 1998 by DJ Die and Roni Size, featuring vocalist Leonie Laws; the group originated in England and was active for only one year. The duo first gained attention with the single "Ultra-Obscene" in 1999, which was followed by the album Ultra Obscene that same year, reaching number 31 on the UK Albums Chart, while the singles "Breakbeat Era", "Ultra-Obscene", and "Bullitproof" charted at 38, 48, and 65 respectively.
