Brakes were an English indie rock band from Brighton, formed in 2003. The band's debut single, "Pick Up the Phone,"was released in 2004, and their debut album, Give Blood, followed in 2005. That same year saw the singles "All Night Disco Party" and "Ring a Ding Ding." Their second album, The Beatific Visions, was released in the UK in 2006, alongside the single "Hold Me in the River."
