Ohio-born guitarist and producer Tom Scholz formed the American arena rock band
Boston in 1976 with vocalist Brad Delp, guitarist Barry Goudreau, bassist Fran
Sheehan and drummer John Hashian and they had immediate success with a hit album
and hit singles. Tom Scholz has remained with the group ever since but many
musicians have come and gone including Brad Delp, who committed suicide in 2007.
The band kicked off in the city of Boston and had an instant smash with their
1976 debut release Boston, which flew up to number 3 on the Billboard 200 while
