Ohio-born guitarist and producer Tom Scholz formed the American arena rock band
Boston in 1976 with vocalist Brad Delp, guitarist Barry Goudreau, bassist Fran
Sheehan and drummer John Hashian and they had immediate success with a hit album
and hit singles. Scholz has remained with the group ever since but many
musicians have come and gone including Delp, who committed suicide in 2007. The
current line-up features vocalist Tommy DeCarlo, Gary Phil on guitar and
keyboards, percussionists Curly Smith and Jeff Neal, Tracy Ferrie on bass, and
singer and keyboardist Beth Cohen.
