Bobby Edwards
Robert Edward Moncrief, known professionally as Bobby Edwards, born in 1926 in
Anniston, Alabama, was an American country music singer. At the beginning of his
career, he recorded under the name Bobby Moncrief, releasing his first single,
"Long Gone Daddy" (1958), for D Records. In 1959, he released a cover of
"Jealous Heart" (1959) on the Bluebonnet label. He subsequently started
recording as Bobby Edwards, traveled west, and was placed by Terry Fell on Crest
Records, where he joined the group The Four Young Men to form Bobby Edwards &
