Blackbird was an electronic post-punk band formed in 1987 by brothers Chip and
Tony Kinman after the dissolution of their cowpunk band Rank and File. Following
their earlier work with The Dils and Rank and File, the Kinmans explored
abrasive, metallic techno-pop with Blackbird. The band released three albums
between 1988 and 1992, with production by Ric Wallace of Butthole Surfers on the
