Tevon Gutzmore, known professionally as Black Kappa, was born on 14 June 1977 in
Saint Mary Parish, Jamaica, and became a reggae‑influenced dancehall singer.
After winning local singing contests in Montego Bay, he relocated to Germany in
1997 and entered the Berlin reggae scene, contributing to Dejavue’s Made 2 Chill
in 1999. His breakthrough came in 2001 when his feature on Seeed’s Dickes B
brought him national attention, leading to his own single "Party On" released by
