Billy Sanders
Brian Sanderson, known professionally as Billy Sanders, was born on May 16,
1934, in Ashington, England. During his military service, he learned German and
began performing as a singer. After returning to Ashington, he won a talent
contest in 1957, leading to an engagement at the Londoner Panama Club. His
career took off when he signed his first record deal with Electrola in 1958,
releasing seven singles that featured German cover versions of American hits.
His debut single "Ich bin kein schöner Mann / Jackety Jack" was released in the
