Thomas McBride, known as Big Tom, was an Irish singer and musician born on
September 18, 1936, in Oram. He performed as a vocalist, guitarist, and
saxophonist. He began his career in 1966 as the frontman of the ensemble Big Tom
and the Mainliners. The group's recordings included “Gentle Mother” (1967) and
“Old Log Cabin for Sale” (1967). McBride achieved multiple Number 1 hits on the
Irish Singles Chart, such as “Broken Marriage Vows” (1972) and “Old Love
