Bia Ferreira is a Brazilian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist born on
April 19, 1993, in Carangola, Minas Gerais. She established a musical background
in an evangelical family, studying piano from age three before attending the
Brazilian Music Conservatory. Ferreira began professional activities in 2009 in
Aracaju, Sergipe, defining her style as “MMP — Música de Mulher Preta” (Black
Woman Music). Her recording career featured the 2011 composition “Cota Não É
Esmola”, which became a mandatory study text for several Brazilian universities.
