Rebecca Sleight, known professionally as Berri, is an English singer who was
born in 1974 in York, England. Her career began with the single “The Sunshine
After the Rain” (1994), which was originally credited to New Atlantic/U4EA
featuring Berri. The track reached number 26 on the UK Singles Chart in December
1994 and, after a re-release in September 1995, peaked at number 4, becoming the
45th biggest-selling UK single of 1995 and earning a gold certification in
Australia. The follow-up single “Shine Like a Star” (1995) reached number 20 on
