Benard Ighner was an American jazz singer, musician, and producer born in the
United States in 1945. After serving in the United States Army, Ighner recorded
with Dizzy Gillespie under the name Bernard Ito and later performed with Lalo
Schifrin using the pseudonym Alexander St. Charles. They appeared on the
Schifrin album Rock Requiem (1971) and wrote the song “Like Me” (1971) for the
film Dirty Harry. Ighner's composition “Everything Must Change” appeared on the
Quincy Jones album Body Heat (1974) and was subsequently recorded by artists
including Randy Crawford and Nina Simone....
