Benny Morton
Benny Morton, born January 31, 1907, was an American jazz trombonist from New
York, best known for his contributions to the swing era. Early in his career, he
worked with Clarence Holiday before becoming closely associated with the
orchestras of Fletcher Henderson and Count Basie. In 1934, Morton led his own
recording session with Benny Morton & His Orchestra, showcasing his skills as
both a bandleader and performer. During the early 1940s, he played with Teddy
