Bedouin Soundclash, a Canadian band based in Toronto, was formed in 2001 by
vocalist and guitarist Jay Malinowski, bass player Eon Sinclair, and various
session musicians. The band's sound blends reggae and ska influences. Their
debut album Root Fire was released in 2001, followed by Sounding a Mosaic in
2004. During the recording of Sounding a Mosaic, Bedouin Soundclash formed a
close bond with producer Darryl Jenifer of Bad Brains. The single "When the
Night Feels My Song" from this album became their breakthrough hit on Canadian
