Beau Jocque, born Andrus Espre on November 1, 1953, in Duralde, Louisiana, was
an American zydeco musician and songwriter. After a work-related accident in
1987 left him temporarily paralyzed, he began playing his father's button
accordion as part of his therapy. In 1991, Beau Jocque formed the Zydeco
Hi-Rollers with his wife Shelly on rubboard, quickly gaining popularity by
incorporating rock guitar solos and blues-rock beats into zydeco music. His
first recording, My Name is Beau Jocque, was released in 1992. In 1993, he
