Beatrice Ruth Wain, born on April 30, 1917, in New York City, was an American
Big Band era singer. She made her debut at age 6 as a featured performer on the
NBC Children's Hour and later sang regularly on The Larry Clinton Show, Monday
Merry-Go-Round, and Your Hit Parade. In 1938, she debuted with Larry Clinton at
Glen Island Casino and recorded "My Reverie". The following year, she was voted
the most popular female band vocalist by Billboard magazine. After leaving the
Clinton Orchestra, she focused on her work on radio but released singles like
"I'm Nobody's Baby" and "My Sist...
