Barry Louis Polisar, born on November 18, 1954 in Brooklyn, New York, is an
American singer-songwriter and writer known for his contributions to children's
music. He began his career in Montgomery County, Maryland, releasing his debut
album I Eat Kids in 1975. Throughout the late 1970s and early 1980s, Polisar
released several albums including My Brother Thinks He's a Banana (1977) and
Songs for Well Behaved Children (1979). His work has been recognized with five
