Avihu Medina, born on September 19, 1948, in Tel Aviv, Israel, is a composer and
singer known for his contributions to Mizrahi music. He was raised as the third
son of Aaron and Leah Medina, with roots tracing back to Yemen. Medina's early
life included living on Kibbutz Kissufim and serving as a tank commander in the
Israel Defense Forces. Medina began his musical career by composing over 401
Mizrachi songs. By 2007, he had released nine albums. He is also known for
composing many of Zohar Argov's songs and his work has influenced the Oriental
music scene.
