Alexander „Asp“ Spreng was born on 19 March 1972 in Germany and founded the band
ASP in 1999 with guitarist Matthias Ambré. After early demo recordings in a
rented apartment, the duo attracted the attention of Trisol, who signed them and
released their debut album Hast Du mich vermisst? in 2000. The single "Wer
sonst?" followed in 2009, marking the band’s first charting release. ASP
continued to issue concept albums such as Duett (2001), Weltunter (2003), and
Aus der Tiefe (2005), while expanding their lineup with drummer
