Ashley Dwayne MacIsaac, born February 24, 1975 in Creignish, Nova Scotia,
Canada, is a Canadian musician, singer, and songwriter. He began his career as a
violinist, releasing his album Hi™ How Are You Today? in 1995. The album
featured the hit single "Sleepy Maggie", which peaked at number 13 on the
Canadian RPM Top Singles chart and reached number 2 on the Billboard Bubbling
Under Hot 100. MacIsaac won three Juno Awards: Best New Solo Artist and Best
Roots & Traditional Album – Solo in 1996, and Best Instrumental Artist in 1997.
