Arthur Pryor

Arthur Willard Pryor was an American trombonist and bandleader born on 22 September 1869 in St. Joseph, Missouri. He achieved professional recognition as a soloist and assistant conductor for the Sousa Band, with which he performed between 1892 and 1903. Following the death of his father Samuel Pryor, he assumed leadership of the Pryor Band, which debuted at the Majestic Theatre in 1903.
