Arsenije Dedić was a Yugoslav and Croatian singer-songwriter and poet born on 28
July 1938 in Šibenik, Kingdom of Yugoslavia. He achieved professional
recognition as a founder of the chanson genre in Croatia, blending French
influences with Dalmatian folklore. After graduating from the Music Academy of
Zagreb in 1964, he released the extended play Zapleši Twist (1962) and the
studio recordings Čovjek kao ja (1969), Homo Volans (1973), and Vraćam se
(1975). He collaborated with his wife Gabi Novak on the studio recording Gabi i
