Argeo Quadri was an Italian conductor born in Italy in 1911. Quadri graduated
from the Milan Conservatory in 1933 and specialized in Italian and French opera.
They conducted productions at Covent Garden in the mid-1950s, including the
Giuseppe Verdi operas Rigoletto and Un ballo in maschera. From 1957, they were
primarily resident at the Vienna State Opera. Quadri performed at venues
including the Metropolitan Opera, Teatro Colón, and La Scala. Quadri died in
2004.
