Anthrax
Thrash legends Anthrax formed in Queens, New York City, in 1981, founded by
rhythm guitarist Scott Ian and bassist Dan Lilker. After several early lineup
changes, vocalist Neil Turbin, lead guitarist Dan Spitz, and drummer Charlie
Benante joined Ian and Lilker for the debut album Fistful of Metal, released by
Megaforce Records in 1984. Lilker and Turbin subsequently departed, with bassist
Frank Bello and vocalist Joey Belladonna completing the lineup heard on
Spreading the Disease in 1985. Anthrax became a leading act in the East Coast
