Andy Taylor
Andrew James Taylor, known professionally as Andy Taylor, born February 16,
1961, in Tynemouth, England, is an English guitarist, songwriter, and record
producer. Taylor rose to international fame in 1980 as the lead guitarist for
the new wave and synth-pop group Duran Duran, contributing to multi-platinum
studio albums including Duran Duran (1981), Rio (1982), and Seven and the Ragged
Tiger (1983). In 1985, Taylor co-founded the supergroup The Power Station,
scoring Top 10 hits with “Some Like It Hot” and “Get It On (Bang a Gong)”.
