Anaís Martínez Vega was born on 22 June 1984 in Santo Domingo, Dominican
Republic, and later moved to the Bronx, New York, where she developed her vocal
skills. Her breakthrough came in 2005 with the single "Arriba, abajo" for the
2006 FIFA World Cup, recorded with Pablo Montero, Mariana Seoane, and
Ana Bárbara. In 2006 she released her debut album Así Soy Yo under Univision,
featuring the singles "Atrapada", "Lo que son las cosas", "Estoy con él y pienso
