Amiel Muki Daemion, known professionally as Amiel, was born on August 13, 1979,
in New York City. She is an American-born Australian pop singer and songwriter
who moved to Australia with her family at the age of two. Her early exposure to
music came from her parents, both musicians, which fostered her interest in
