Amanda McBroom
Amanda McBroom is an American singer-songwriter and actress. McBroom began a
career performing in musical productions, including Jacques Brel Is Alive and
Well and Living in Paris. A breakthrough occurred with the song “The Rose”
(1979), which was performed by Bette Midler in the film The Rose (1979). McBroom
wrote lyrics for 14 animated films, including The Land Before Time series.
Albums include Growing Up in Hollywood Town (1980), Dreaming (1986), and Voices
(2017).
