Alexandra Ashley Hughes, known professionally as Allie X, was born on July 31,
1985, in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. She developed an early interest in piano
classical, opera, and musical theater, studying at the Sheridan University of
Oakville and the Interlochen Arts Center in Michigan. In the mid-2000s, Hughes
