Alkpote, whose real name is Atef Kahlaoui, was born in Paris on February 3,
1991. After an eventful school career, he chose to devote himself to music
rather than plumbing, which was his default career choice. After moving to Évry
at the age of 15, he adopted the stage name Al K-Pote, which he later changed to
Alkpote, and joined the group Unité 2 Feu, with whom he released the album
Haine, Misère et Crasse. But it was as a solo artist that he joined the
Néochrome label in 2006 and released his first mixtape, Sucez-Moi Avant l'Album.
This was followed by a debut album, L'Empereur...
