Algebra Felicia Blessett, known professionally as Algebra, was born in Atlanta,
Georgia, United States, on April 9, 1976, and is an American contemporary R&B
singer. Growing up in a musical household, she began singing at nine years old.
Algebra started her career providing backing vocals for artists such as Monica
and Bilal, which led to a contract with Rowdy Records in Atlanta. She released
