Alessandra Leão, born on January 27, 1979, in Recife, Brazil, is a Brazilian
singer, songwriter, percussionist and producer of popular music. Her career
began with the release of Brinquedo de Tambor in 2006, marking her debut as a
singer and percussionist. Leão's subsequent albums include Folia de Santo (2008)
and Dois Cordões (2009). In 2015, she released the EP Língua. Her discography
also includes notable works such as Macumbas e Catimbós (2019) and Acesa (2022),
highlighting her deep roots in Brazilian music traditions.
