Alena Apina (born Elena Evgenyevna Levochkina on August 23, 1964) is a Russian
pop, disco, and chanson singer, actress, and songwriter from Saratov. Apina
began piano studies at age five and later graduated from the Folk Song Faculty
at the Saratov State Conservatory. From 1988 to 1991, Apina performed as the
lead singer of the group Kombinaciya, recording the tracks “Russian Girls” and
“American Boy”. Apina began a solo career in 1991, releasing the debut album
Street of Love (1992). The 1993 album Dance Until the Morning featured eight
