Agua Marina, a Peruvian cumbia band, was founded on August 30, 1976, in Sechura,
Piura. The group originated from the Quiroga Querevalú family and their musical
talents were nurtured during their secondary education at Colegio San Martín de
Sechura. The brothers José and Manuel Quiroga Querevalú initially performed with
local bands before forming Agua Marina. Their debut performance occurred on
August 30, 1976, at a dance event organized by the Committee of Ladies of the
Civil Guard in Sechura.
