Act, a short-lived synth-pop group from the United Kingdom, was formed in 1989
and comprised Scottish musician Thomas Leer and German vocalist Claudia Brücken.
The band signed to ZTT Records and released their debut single "Snobbery and
Decay" in 1987, which peaked at number 60 on the UK Singles Chart and number 38
in Italy. Their music blended synthpop and disco with influences from
psychedelic rock and musical theatre, often exploring themes of debauchery and
