8-Eyed Spy were an American no wave band from New York formed in 1979. The
ensemble consisted of vocalist Lydia Lunch, Jim Sclavunos, Michael Paumgardhen,
Pat Irwin, and bassist George Scott III. They performed their first concert in
October 1979 at the Mudd Club, where they played covers of the Bo Diddley track
“Diddy Wah Diddy” (1956), the Creedence Clearwater Revival track “Run Through
the Jungle” (1970), and the Jefferson Airplane track “White Rabbit” (1967).
