213 was formed in Long Beach, California, by the trio of Snoop Dogg, Warren G,
and Nate Dogg, who had already established themselves in the West Coast hip‑hop
scene. The group’s name, pronounced “Two One Three,” references the original 213
telephone area code that covered Long Beach. Their breakthrough came with the
single "Ain't No Fun (If the Homies Can't Have None)" from Snoop Dogg’s 1993
debut Doggystyle, which showcased the trio’s collaborative chemistry. In 1994
