1974, a progressive rock band from Newington, Connecticut, formed in 2007. Their
debut album, 1974 & The Battle For The Lazer Fortress, was released in 2011 and
received positive reviews from local media outlets. In 2012, the band released
two EPs: The Return and A Soldier's Tale. The band's subsequent album, 1974 &
The Death of the Herald, was released in 2013 and received critical acclaim,
earning them the Best Rock Band award at the Connecticut Music Awards that year.
