The 101 Strings Orchestra, an American easy-listening orchestra and brand, was
founded in 1957 by record label mogul David L. Miller. The orchestra initially
consisted of 124 string instruments and was conducted by Wilhelm Stephan. The
first three albums were released in November 1957, with over 10 titles following
in 1958. Notable albums include Gypsy Campfires (1958), which reached number 9
on the UK charts. In 1964, Miller sold the franchise to Al Sherman, who renamed
